On the oceans topic, The oceans of pandora are supposed to be a whole new world with many many new sights and sounds. Im excited for it! The only part in Avatar that I didn't like is how they never showed Jake training for his missions at the training facility in his Avatar body. It all happened so fast.

Yeah its still on Pandora. They might of left the additional parts of the movie out as a money making strategy. People are willing to spend money on all types of entertainment incuding movies, and if you release new footage, your going to earn more money.

My overriding theory is that Pandora being a water planet (though technically a moon), the oceans would be a critical part of their environment. as is our own, though it is easy to ignore.

My favorite Cameron film is The abyss. Sci-fi, but rooted in our own culture. He is very good at portraying life on and in the ocean (Titanic counts, here). It is only logical that that is where he would like to go next in this story.

Yeah, The Abyss was an incredible film, and Cameron definitely has experience with oceanic story telling.
